Women in STEMM

The world is undergoing a rapid tech revolution phase marked by the integration of digital technologies, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and a focus on circular economy and sustainability. Simultaneously, we face challenges such as cybersecurity, food security, and climate change. The role of women in this era is evolving rapidly, and their contributions are increasingly crucial to shaping the future of technology and innovation. Therefore, women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) now have numerous opportunities, adopting a holistic approach that connects different ecosystems in this changing landscape. This session aims to explore and promote collaboration between Korean and European researchers and professionals in STEMM fields, with a specific focus on empowering women. We believe that a profound comprehension of the educational and professional cultures in both Korea and Europe has the potential to catalyze and encourage women-led international collaboration. By gaining insights into the nuances of how education and professional environments function in these regions, women in STEMM can leverage this knowledge to build effective partnerships and foster an environment conducive to their successful carrier development.
