On the Ground: Incorporating subjective occupant feedback into data-driven urban planning for climate-resilient cities
DR. MOSTEIRO ROMERO, Martín
Department Of Architectural Engineering And Technology, Tu Delft
Martín Mosteiro Romero is a postdoc researcher in the Department of Architectural Engineering and Technology at TU Delft. In his research, he seeks to combine data analysis and modeling techniques to the planning of energy systems that minimize energy demand and ensure occupant well-being at the building to urban scale. Before joining TU Delft, Martín was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore and a doctoral researcher at the ETH Zürich in Switzerland.

Ecologically valid recording and reproduction for urban soundscape evaluations in a lab setting
PROF. LEE, Hyunkook
University of Huddersfield
[Short bio and main R&D fields] Professor Lee has developed research in the area of 3D audio psychoacoustic engineering as well as undergraduate modules such as Acoustics and Psychoacoustics and Spatial Recording Techniques. In 2014 he has established the Applied Psychoacoustics Lab (APL), a research group studying the mechanism of human auditory perception and developing new audio algorithms for practical applications. The APL’s research has significantly advanced the fundamental understanding about the perception of height in 3D audio recording and reproduction, and led to the development of new microphone array, panning and upmixing techniques. He regularly works with the industry as a consultant. Companies that he has worked with include Samsung Electronics, Volvo Car, L-ISA and MagicBeans. Hyunkook is also an experienced sound engineer specialising in surround and 3D acoustic recording.
