Dr. Johannes Novotny is a senior research engineer at VRVis (Zentrum für Virtual Reality und Visualisierung Forschungs-GmbH) since 2020, as part of the Biomedical Image Informatics group. His research interests focus on the improvement of medical image visualization by using novel rendering techniques, AI processing and immersive display devices (AR/VR). He earned his PhD in computer science at Brown University in 2020, and has previously worked as a research scholar at UC Davis’ VIDi group.

Jung-Mu Kim received M.S. and PhD degrees in EECS from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 2002 and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSD. In 2008, he joined the faculty of the Division of Electronic Engineering, Jeonbuk National University, Jeonju, where he is currently a full professor. His research interests include the IMU, SPR sensor, RF MEMS/metasurface for 5G/6G and ink-jet printing, 3D printing-based printed electronics, and packaging.

Jae Sook Cheong received a B.A. in Computer Science and Engineering from POSTECH in 1996, an MPhil in Computer Science and Engineering from HKUST in 2000, and a Ph.D in Information and Computing Sciences from Utrecht University in 2006. She started her work in Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in 2006 as Senior Research Scientist. From Dec. 2019, she works as a researcher in Hof University, and from April, 2022, in Bayreuth University. Prof. Dr. Matthias Harders is a full professor at University of Innsbruck since 2014, and head of the Interactive Graphics and Simulation (IGS) group. He is a leading scientist in the areas of computer haptics, virtual/augmented reality, and physically-based simulation. Based on his previous research, he has co-founded the successful spinoff company VirtaMed (www.virtamed.com). Prof. Harders has strongly contributed to the growth and development of the new haptics research field and community, for instance by founding the successful EuroHaptics conference series in 2000, as a founder and first elected Co-Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics 2008–2010, or as a co-founder of the IEEE Transactions on Haptics in 2008.
